I’ll be honest, staying in a job that didn’t fulfill me felt like the safest option. BUT THEN I was laid off and left without a choice.
This is when I realized I had a choice to make. I could either return to comfort, another 9-5 where I didn’t feel fulfilled or stop caring what people thought and start building the life I’ve always wanted.
Looking back, the beginning of 2023 felt like hell. (Sorry I just can’t sugarcoat it.) but the end, phew the end GOT GOOD. I tear up thinking about how I can now say I’m SO thankful I got laid off. Isn’t that wild?!
I know down the line, I would’ve left anyway. I was already planning it. But because it happened before I was ready, I had no job lined up, nothing to lean on.
So, it was sink or swim and baby I wasn’t sinking 😅
If you’re unhappy in the job you’re in, hoping something will change, I’m telling you, it probably won’t and you’ll either be left with no other option or safe and comfortable forever.
